Project Description
The methane and greenhouse gas baseline studies for the Beetaloo SREBA established a methane baseline, reference sites and a program for ongoing monitoring. To do this, the survey measured ambient methane concentrations across the region, used a basin conceptual model to rank areas of potential geological seeps, identified and characterised potential methane sources and identify indicators relevant for ongoing monitoring. This study was led by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Abstract
This report documents the work undertaken for the Strategic Regional Environmental and Baseline Assessment (SREBA) greenhouse gas (GHG) baseline study. The report documents and synthesises the results from three mobile surveys conducted in the wet, dry and fire seasons, provides an updated inventory of GHG emissions in the study area and recommendations for a program for operational ongoing monitoring and areas for future research and development.
