Project Description
The methane and greenhouse gas baseline studies for the Beetaloo SREBA established a methane baseline, reference sites and a program for ongoing monitoring. To do this, the survey measured ambient methane concentrations across the region, used a basin conceptual model to rank areas of potential geological seeps, identified and characterised potential methane sources and identify indicators relevant for ongoing monitoring. This study was led by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

Abstract
This report describes the results of a regional methane survey conducted in February 2022 across the Beetaloo Sub-basin in the Northern Territory for the Strategic Regional Environmental and Baseline Assessment (SREBA) program. This survey occurred during the wet season and so was restricted to accessible roads including sealed public roads.
