Project Description
The water quality and quantity studies for the Beetaloo Sub-basin SREBA assessed groundwater chemistry and levels, and better characterised aquifer parameters, intra- and inter-aquifer connectivity, recharge and discharge processes for regional aquifers overlying the Beetaloo Sub-basin. This study was led by the Northern Territory Government Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security, Water Resources Division.

Abstract
The springs regions shapefile dataset provides a polygon boundary definition of four springs systems within the SREBA Beetaloo Water Studies project area. The four springs regions were selected as representative sites for use in the application of remote sensing techniques for estimating evapotranspiration flux from springs in the Beetaloo Sub-Basin and surrounds (Gautam et al., 2022). They are a subset of the wider Springs dataset available for the Northern Territory. The boundary of the springs regions is a visual interpretation of the surface expression of groundwater related to known spring systems in the Beetaloo SREBA Water Studies project area. The boundaries were manually traced using ESRI World Imagery sourced in February 2022.
