Project Description
The water quality and quantity studies for the Beetaloo Sub-basin SREBA assessed groundwater chemistry and levels, and better characterised aquifer parameters, intra- and inter-aquifer connectivity, recharge and discharge processes for regional aquifers overlying the Beetaloo Sub-basin. This study was led by the Northern Territory Government Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security, Water Resources Division.

Abstract
This study reports on part of the requirements for the Water Quantity and Quality program, specifically, a review of existing groundwater quality information for the SREBA water study area which includes groundwaters overlying the Beetaloo Sub-basin. The analyses are based on data collated and stored in the NT Water Data Portal and data collected by land custodians, Power and Water Corporation (PWC), CSIRO and Geoscience Australia (GA) (Commonwealth Government), and gas exploration companies. The majority of this review concentrates on the Cambrian Limestone Aquifer, which lies 1-2 kilometres above the gas targets in the Beetaloo Basin.
