Project Description

The aquatic ecosystem baseline studies for the Beetaloo Sub-basin SREBA characterised the following attributes: identification and delineation of aquatic habitats, aquatic vascular plants, fish, reptiles, macroinvertebrate species, and other significant species. This study identified areas of high conservation value and determined recommendations for ongoing monitoring. The study was led by the Northern Territory Government Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security, Flora and Fauna Division.

Abstract

This dataset contains aquatic vertebrate data collected during the SREBA Beetaloo Aquatic Ecosystems study in 2021-2022. Specifically this dataset lists all fauna records that were recorded at each of the aquatic fauna survey sites that were sampled throughout the SREBA Beetaloo study area. Data were analysed and used to inform the assessment of the aquatic ecosystem values and risks associated with the development of an onshore gas industry. This assessment is presented in the SREBA aquatic ecosystems final report.
