Project Description
The water quality and quantity studies for the Beetaloo Sub-basin SREBA assessed groundwater chemistry and levels, and better characterised aquifer parameters, intra- and inter-aquifer connectivity, recharge and discharge processes for regional aquifers overlying the Beetaloo Sub-basin. This study was led by the Northern Territory Government Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security, Water Resources Division.

Abstract
To update and recalibrate the existing groundwater – surface water model with new data and information collected by projects undertaken through the Beetaloo Strategic Regional and Baseline Assessment (SREBA) and other technical investigations such as the National Water Grid Authority (NWGA) Science Program and Mapping the Future (MtF) initiatives. The model will provide a key tool for assessment of water resources within the regional hydrogeological basins and associated surface drainage systems, including prediction of regional impacts of unconventional gas development and information for the development of water allocation planning and licence assessments.
